[Enterprise Search] Fast의 convera 인수

노르웨이 검색엔진 업체(세계2위) Fast가 Convera(미국)의 RetrievalWare 비지니스 사업부를 인수하기로했다. 인수액은 2,300만달러 우리돈으로 220억 가량된다.


Convera는 최근 매출이 24%급감 하는 등 수익구조의 악화로 경영의 어려움을 겪었다. Retrievalware사업부의 매각으로 인해 현금흐름이 원활할하게 되었고 회사의 역량을 한곳(vertical search: 정확한 방향은 파악되지 않음, 추후 조사하겠습니다.)에 포커싱할 수 있게 되었다.

 

한편 이 사업부를 인수한 Fast는 FBI, 식약청, 국토안보부 등 정부기관을 고객사로 편입하게 되어 미국내 공공시장의 영향력을 넑힐 수 있었고 기업검색시장에서 막강한 경쟁사 하나를 따돌릴 수 있게 되었다.
