다이퀘스트, KISTI 차세대 정보서비스-시맨틱 검색 성과발표회 참가후기

지난 4일 노보텔 엠버서더 강남에서 개최되었던 행사는 KISTI가 '지식기반 정보유통 플랫폼 개발사업’을 2년째 수행하면서 개발한 ‘온토프레임-OntoFrame’이라는 시맨틱 웹 기반 정보유통서비스 프레임웍을 이용자들에게 공개하고 구축된 사례를 발표하는 자리였습니다.

우리회사는 그동안 검색사업자로 KISTI 사업에 참여했었고 현재는 '온토프레임' 기술이전을 통한 파트너사 자격으로 행사에 함께 했습니다.

급작스럽게 몰려온 추위와 때 아닌 비로 인해 사전등록율에 비해 행사참석율이 그리 좋은편은 아니었지만 행사가 시작되고부터는 정부기관을 중심으로 일반기업 등 많은 담당자들이 시맨틱 검색에 대한 관심과 호응으로 행사는 무리없이 진행되었습니다.

시맨틱 검색의 해외 협력자인 Southampton University Dr. Hugh Glaser의 Anatomy of a Semantic Web Application이라는 기조강연으로 행사는 시작되었고 그 이어 법무부, 기술표준원, 국립국어원, 한국학중앙연구 등 온토프레임이 실제 적용된 국내 기관들의 데모가 소개되었습니다.

시맨틱 검색이라고 하면 실제로 사람들은, 현실에서의 구현능력과 이론과의 괴리가 너무 커 막연한 기대감만 주는 신기루와 같다고 생각하는 면이 있습니다. 하지만 이날 행사에서 보여준 온토프레임은 여러가지 정보를 시맨틱 웹 검색을 이용해 다양한 지식의 구조나 형태에 따라 검색결과를 나타내주어 실질적인 시맨틱 검색의 편리성과 효용성을 현실감있게 느낄 수 있게 보여주었습니다.

데모시연을 통해 상담데스크를 운영했던 우리회사는 실제로 구축된 기술표준원의 한국표준협회 용어검색시스템을 직접 보고 사용할 수 있도록 했습니다. 행사를 위한 데모가 아니라 실제로 서비스될 국가 유관기관의 사이트를 참관객들에게 선보이자 많은 분들이 데모시연에 참여하셨습니다.

기술표준원의 한국표준협회 용업검색서비스는 소셜 네트워크 검색기술을 기반으로 관련있는 인물들의 관계를 비쥬얼적으로 표현하여 공저자 관계를 유추하고 특정 주제에 대한 연도별, 분야별 트랜드를 동시에 분석하여 제공하는 특징이 있습니다.

행사가 마무리 때 열심히 컴퓨터를 보는 저입니다
일하는것 같지만, 사실 행사에 참여한 직원들에게 저녁 뭐 먹일까 고민하는 중입니다.
전 이런게 제일 어렵더군요

이렇게 이날 행사는 마무리되었습니다.
2번째로 개최된 행사지만 작년에 비해 참관객도 늘었고 행사를 준비하는 손길도 더욱 많아져 그 비중이 점차 증대하고 있다는 걸 실감할 수 있었습니다.

시맨틱 검색이 미래에 우리가 만들어 낼 대안이라는 점에서, 앞으로 이 행사가 지속적으로 발전해 검색에 관심있는 분들에게 표본을 제시하는 행사로 자리매김했으면 하는 바램이 듭니다.

여기서 상황 인지라는 점은 아래 굵음체로 쓴 부분을 참조하시면 되는데,
일종의 에셜런 시스템에서 할 수 있는 역할을 할 수 있다는 것을 의미합니다.
회사 기밀을 바깥으로 빼내거나, 혹은 테러에 관련된 정보를 이야기 해도
이를 즉각적으로 감지할 수 있다는 것이지요.

Security and Surveillance Solution to Allow Organizations Secure Access to Intelligence Information over a Standard Internet Connection

[Enterpris Search] Autonomy 3분기 실적 예상

UK Search software company Autonomy가 이달 말(on 24 October)에 3분기 실적을 발표합니다. 애널리스트는 Autonomy의 수익이 지속적으로 늘어날 것이라고 추정했고 Autonomy CEO 마이크 린치는 “전통적으로 3분기가 제일 저조한 시즌이지만 3분기 실적이 해가 거듭할수록 늘어나서 기쁘다.”

Autonomy의 주요 고객사는 BAE System, Boeing, Ford, DaimlerChrylser, Shell, AOL, 등이며 300개의 OEM 파트너사 350개의 리셀러와 SI업체(Citrix, EDS, IBM Global Services, Novell, Veritas, Vignette, Sybase)와 협력적인 관계를 갖고 있습니다.

[Enterpris Search] Autonomy 비디오 검색 뜨고 있다

Autonomy는 온라인 비디오 검색기술의 수요 증가와 다른제품들의 개선으로 11% 가까이 점유율이 올라갔습니다. Autonomy의 비디오 검색기술은 세계 최대 비디오 검색사이트 중에 하나인 Blinkx 적용되었습니다.

이번주 초 Blinkx는 MS, AOL, Lycos와 비디오 검색을 제공하기로 계약했습니다. 이로 인해 수백만의 Blinkx 사용자들이 Autonomy의 문서, 뮤직비디오, 텔레비전 리포트, 영상자료 검색 기술을 활용하게 될 것이라고 전하고 있습니다.
